This digital download helps you and your family talk through how things have been going recently.
MAKE YOUR CARDS
Materials: Get your markers, scissors and your dreamy mind. Instructions: Color and decorate your cards. Cut on the dotted lines, stack your cards and bring them to dinner. Feeling creative? Make a sticky panel for the filled-in cards. Welcome to modernity! You are now an agile family!
FILL IN A CARD
In this activity, you will create a retrospective on your recent days together. In this order, gather everyone’s inputs: 1) Positives, 2) Challenges, 3) Learning, 4) Gratitude. In four rounds over dinner, put all the cards on the table, and talk about them.
HAVE A THINK
After dinner, look back, on your conversation. Reflect on:
• What helped us be in conversation?
• What hindered, diminished or blocked our conversation?
• What insights were discovered?
SHARE AND REPEAT
Before your next dinner, exchange views on what helped, hindered & was learnt last time. Then put out the cards and try it again. Share your tips socially with #helpsdialogue or #hindersdialogue and #dialogueinsights at @sharingdialogue.
IMPROVING DIALOGUE
Stimulating Conversation is easy. But it takes practice. This is one of our many Dialogue Experiments that helps you look at your own conversations, test out ways to converse, and share feedback to get better.
Dialogue is always a to-and-fro; and sometimes the best way to move forward, is to think back.
